3 Stacks Smoke & Tap House Reopens in Frisco

Story and photography by Kimberly Stephens The Texas-native lover of BBQ is back again to dish about 3 Stacks Smoke & Tap House - located in the heart of Frisco, Texas. 3 Stacks Smoke & Tap House is a full-service barbecue restaurant that has been open for 4 years,  recently closed for approximately 2 weeks, and has now re-opened. In my personal opinion - it's now better than ever. With new management and menu by Chef Pete Rukes and pitmaster Bryan Shanahan, 3 Stacks was intentional about their customers' feedback when making menu changes.  I’ve personally visited 3 Stacks multiple times before (because #foodlover) and I must say that I was pleasantly surprised and elated with the menu changes and additions. 3Stacks is now also a scratch-kitchen and all bread, sausages, jams and other sauces all house-made. Our experience began with a few cocktails that were aesthetically pleasing and almost too pretty to drink (almost!). I’m typically a margarita girl, so I opted

Alabama-born concept Taco Mama opens in Hillsboro Village

There’s a new taco in town, Nashville. Taco Mama in Hillsboro Village opened last week in Nashville, offering a fast casual taqueria-style approach to tacos, bowls, burritos, nachos, and quesadillas. Located on the ground floor of Village 21, a new development at the corner of Wedgewood and Hillsboro, the space is vibrant and fun with a large chalkboard menu above the counter where you place your order.  Nashville is the 9th location of the concept, and the original opened in 2011 in Birmingham, Alabama. Once you've decided which direction you want your personal food fiesta to go, you can go with their predestined recipes or mix it up a bit by building your own creations. They only charge for the meat  at Taco Mama, so load up on toppings and sauces to your heart's content. You can trust they source fresh, never frozen ingredients, and chop everything fresh in store daily on top of making their sauces each morning. Feeling thirsty too? Don't despair. There are a

Feel the Coastal Love at Shell Shack

Shell Shack first opened their doors in 2013 in Dallas, a casual restaurant specializing in infused, steamed seafood that quickly became known for their naked or saucy seafood boils and also their fried fare. The Plano location opened in 2015 at the SW corner of Park and the Tollway, bringing their coastal creations closer to those in Collin County. I first happened upon Shell Shack when a few of us were looking for “late night eats” in Plano. Open until 1am seven days a week, Shell Shack fit the bill and got bonus points for offering far more than basic bar food. Start your meal at Shell Shack with some raw oysters or their new crab tots, then decide whether you’re more in the mood for a fried platter or some boiled seafood and sauce. Have a whole crowd? Do it up right with some of each. Fried catfish and shrimp, buffalo and regular fried. Crawfish, shrimp, and exotic Bairdi crab plus some King or Snow Crab. And you have a feast truly fit for royalty. Fo
