Fish Bowl Poké Swims Into Frisco

Unless you've been hiding under a seashell lately (hey, I wouldn't blame you, I love the ocean), you know that poké is all the rage in DFW right now.

While the raw fish dish is trendy locally, they've been eating it this way in Hawaii for decades. Pronounced POH-keh, if you're eating it for the first time, try and think of it as sort of a deconstructed sushi roll. Simply, poké is raw fish, cubed, and served in a bowl, either plain or over rice. The newest wave of poké craze has introduced a whole number of fixings that allow you to customize your bowl to fit your fancy. Sauce = Delia approved.

Thus far I've tried around 5 DFW poké concepts, but Frisco's new Fish Bowl Poké stands out to me for a few different reasons.

1. The space is gorgeous. What once was a nail salon is now an inviting, vibrant space that makes me feel good about eating here. I'm talking total transformation.  Enter and go to the right, where you'll see the stunning chalkboard menu along the wall. This will be your guide for how-to-build-the perfect-poké-bowl.

2. Next up: ease of ordering. The user-friendly kiosks allow you to take matters, literally, into your own hands. Choose your bowl size, fish preferences, base (rice, salad, or mix of both), toppings, and then sauce. They swipe to pay and voila - that's it. Introverts, rejoice! We can do this with minimal human interaction. But if you need guidance and a friendly face, the team at Fish Bowl Frisco excels in this as well. The owners are wonderful people that will be happy to help you with whatever you need.

3. The quality of the fish shows. At first bite, you can taste that Fish Bowl is using premium ingredients. They say they use high quality, sustainably sourced fish is high quality, and it is instantly evident when your chopsticks meet your mouth. I love to add spicy sauce and tempura flakes to finish my bowl, for a nice crunch.

Fish Bowl Poké Frisco is open Monday thru Saturday, from 11am - 9pm, and on Sunday from 12pm - 7pm.
