Next Door Restaurant and Bar
Who's there?
A really cool bar that's also a fan-freaking-tastic restaurant. Chef Paul Niekrasz is welcoming hungry diners to his stoop at Next Door Restaurant and Bar with delicious bites of all shapes and sizes.
I was lucky enough to sample a large portion of the menu at last month's media dinner.
Small bites wowed me. From the Tomato Soup with Parmesan Grilled Cheese Wontons, to the Tuna Poke Nachos, to the Cajun Crab Cakes, I literally could not get enough. That Grilled Cheese Wonton and Tomato Soup is absolute genius, and one of the greatest bites I've taken in ages.

Not to be outdone, the Tuna Nachos and Cajun Crab Cakes were there to quench my spicy-loving taste buds as well.

For the main event, might I recommend the Chimichurri Filet Mignon. Tender, cooked perfectly to your preference, and served with plentiful "bi fries", a mixture of regular and sweet potato fries. Other options include a Pan Roasted Chicken Breast, Bay of Fundy Salmon, Grilled Scallops, and Lemon Pesto Spaghettini.
Many of the aforementioned items are even on their 2016 Restaurant Week Menu, so get in soon and indulge in 3 courses for $35 – Easy on your wallet and your taste buds.
There is so much to love on the food menu at Next Door, I might accidentally forget to remind you that it's also a bar and a hot spot for nightlife as well as two perfect patios for brunching. The decor is inviting, and a wall full of actual (door) knockers along the staircase will give you a giggle and provide a perfect spot for a photo op. A wall full of speakers upstairs provides another instagram-able spot and a cool place to settle in with one of their craft cocktails. The Scorched Peach is made with New Amsterdam Peach Vodka, cinnamon syrup, lemon, and soda and is a playful summery sipper.

Cocktails, brunch, or dinner with friends, it's always a good idea to go Next Door.
