Cocktail heaven: Cafe Herrera opens at Omni Dallas

For over 40 years, the Herrera family has been dishing out Tex-Mex to Dallas diners. The family tradition continues now at Cafe Herrera, which opened in March as the fourth and final concept at the Omni Dallas. 

On the rocks

The new spot is operated by Gil Bonifaz, cousin to the original Herrera's owner. The menu features lots of made-in-house ingredients, from tortillas to cocktail syrups. Traditional dishes are offered alongside more contemporary Mexican plates.

The cocktail menu offers so much more than your run-of-the-mill margaritas, which are still excellent here. They also serve numerous craft cocktails, like their Violeta, with creme de violette, grapefruit juice, and St. Germain.
