Boudro's

Amazing, creative food, in a lovely location along the famous Riverwalk. Sit outside and enjoy the view and the people-watching. I must warn you, though, the peppers shown in that little white bowl to the right are probably the hottest thing I've ever eaten. There were tears. But everything else, I'd order all over again. ;)

Brand new place, spacious, with a beautiful staircase. We ordered the lunch express special, brisket au jus, which was just okay, considering we are, indeed, in Texas. I have high brisket standards and this one didn't 'meat' them. We did, however, get a free bread pudding for dessert. Vindication.

Mi Tierra Cafe y Panaderia

This mexican joint came highly recommended, and apparently, all the San Antonians are recommending it, because there was a 2 hour wait. Fortunately, we realized you can sit in the bar, which is first come, first serve, and order appetizers and beverages. So, we had guac, queso, salsa, and Dr. Pepper, and didn't hafta stand around for 2 hours. Can't beat that.

The. Best. Bloody Marys. Ever. Ask for David the bartender. Food is pretty good, but seriously, just go for a bloody mary.
